N.F.P.A. Qualifies Deutsch Advanced Interconnect Products to
New Specification
Hemet, CA. Deutsch is proud to announce the qualification of the Deutsch
DFP series connectors to the National Fluid & Power
Association’s specification for "Connectors for Integrated
Amplifier Proportional Valves." You can find the specification NFPa/T2.30.6-2002 at http://www.nfpa.com.
The DFP Series from Deutsch Advanced Interconnect
addresses the major concerns facing designers and users in
fluid power and motor applications:
- Standardized pin identification
- Shielding affectivity
- Fluid resistant
- Intermountable on existing products
Standardized pin call-outs plus Protective Earth Contact. The DFP Series shall
meet the 35 volt per meter requirement. Deutsch Fluid Power Connector (DFP) is
designed to withstand water intrusion in both the mated and unmated conditions.
When used in conjunction with a Deutsch backshell, the connector will meet the IP 67
or NEMA 6 requirements. In the unmated condition, the DFP connector shall meet the
IP 65 requirements.
This connector will replace the present seven-pin MS connector while allowing the
additional pins for options such as feedback or serial bus. The new NFPA connector is
compatible with the present conduit boxes utilizing the MS connectors. If you should

N.F.P.A. Approves New Specification
Milwaukee, WI. The National Fluid Power Association has approved a new
Specification for the Fluid Power Industry. The T2.30.6 Specification, which has been
5 years in the approval process, was formally approved for publication today. For the
first time the T2.30.6 Specification addresses standardized pin identification, shielding
affectivity, fluid resistance and standardizing footprints on existing products.
T2.30.6 Specification also addresses water intrusion into the case and systems
growth. The design of the connector housing does not require additional potting for
water tightness. The connector is designed to meet the IP 67 in the mated condition
and IP 65 in the unmated condition. The new 12-pin connector is designed to replace
the 7-pin connector currently in use. The approved connector pin assignments and the
resulting flow direction will be standardized so that valves from different manufactures
can be interchanged without rewiring the system.
The use of the Deutsch Fluid Power Connector will allow manufacturers and end users
to upgrade their systems without significant impact of their bottom line while achieving
improvement in performance.
